The Call

We don’t always know what form it will take
Whisper of creation sends an invitation,
Makes the call
God’s message delivered to seal our fate
Asks us to serve, to give it our all

Can’t ignore the call from The Man
It’s the real deal, part of the plan
Of what we are to be and do
An amazing gift for me and you

The wind holds the clue
Holy Spirit, life anew
Speaks to your soul from heaven above
Wrapped in a blanket of Love

Listen carefully and you will know
The greatest show in all of creation
Is yours to unfold
Your light to behold!

God will take your hand, never leave you alone
As you take your stand and set the tone
For Love and peace and harmony
The world is your stage for eternity

You may wonder, how can one person be
Everything to all humanity?

Joining hands with others
One cause, one message, its strength will grow
It’s all for LOVE, don’t you know?

Plain and simple, it shouldn’t be hard
Love is the answer to all that we are
This world needs it right from the start
Good for the soul, feeds the heart

Creation sings to one and all
The message is LOVE
This is the call!

Welcome to A Brand New World!

Thank you for taking the time to visit and read some of my poems and reflections. This site was created out of a surprising turn of events and circumstances which occurred in the summer of 2009. These events took me on an eye-opening, soul-awakening journey which led to a totally unexpected and previously undiscovered gift. It seems I had an inner poet just waiting for the right moment in time to make itself known!

Before December of 2009 when my first poem came through me, I would have been the last person in the world to consider myself the creative type. Even then, I doubted that I would ever write another verse in rhyme or otherwise because I thought it was just a fluke. I cherished that first little verse - my memoir of a very powerful spiritual retreat at the coast that Christmas. I was ready to create a frameable copy with the notation "Christmas Retreat 2009 - My one and only poem for all time!" Little did I know that God had more in store for me. A couple of weeks later as I was getting ready for work one morning, I had something that was weighing heavily on my heart, and before I knew it, the words of a poem began to flow. I quickly grabbed a pen and paper and wrote as fast as the words came. From that point on, I realized that something new had awakened in me and it was here to stay! There have been many more poems since that day and there will be many more to come, I am sure. What you see here is only a sample of what has already been written. I hope to continue writing and sharing as long as God continues to give me things to write about!

I feel so blessed to have found this new form of expression. There's just something about putting your thoughts and feelings in poetic form that is very healing - cathartic really. Many of my poems are inspired by nature or circumstances in my life or the world that have touched me or sparked a passion in me. All are based in the amazing Love of God which has made itself more and more known to me throughout my life.

I hope you will enjoy your visit here at A Brand New World and will leave a comment or two if you are so moved. By sharing what has inspired me, I hope that you too will be inspired, and you will feel a little more light has entered your heart as you leave here.
